There is a solitary day each year when tables across the country are weighted down by “the bird” & all its trimmings…ahh yes, Thanksgiving might just be my favorite holiday.
#3 Turkey Day: While the smell of Christmas trees & twinkling lights may edge Christmas above Thanksgiving in the “atmosphere” department, I love Thanksgiving because it’s a holiday still spent with loved ones sans the stress & materialism of presents. It tends to be a much quieter affair & I for one like that.
I also love curling up on the couch to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade—the first hour of Broadway performances in Herald Square is a must-see—And catching a holiday blockbuster w. the family at a local theater. HP7, anyone? (HP = Harry Potter in case you’re out of the loop!)
and of course we must not forget about the leftovers that go on for days!
fact: 2 slices of bread + leftover turkey + ketchup = one of my favorite foods. don’t knock it until you try it.
Thursday, November, 25 — draw a little Turkey on your calendar & prepare to loosen a button on your favorite pair of pants. who knows, Brad Pitt might even show up this year!
