Tuesday Tunes: Fairburn vs. 42 Commando.

Fairburn & 42 Commando…perhaps you’re saying “neither of those names ring a bell.” nor should they because neither “group” technically exists, at least not in any real physical sense.

let me explain. i’ve been in a bit of a music slump as of late — not one of my favorite places to be, but hey, it happens. so in light of my slump, this week’s Tuesday Tunes post was lacking its usual enjoyment factor until i came across the following little activity over the weekend which has since provided me a solid hour of entertainment.

introducing the Random Album Generator. directions for creating your own album are at the end of the post and PLEASE take me seriously when i suggest you take the 3 minutes of time necessary to create a little album of your own. i had so much fun the first go around i went back and created a second…

may i present to you Fairburn + 42 Commando.

Fairburn.

42 commando.

now it’s your turn.
1. Go to Wikipedia.com and hit “Random article.” The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2. Go to quotationspage.com and hit “Random Quotes.” The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.
3. Go to Flickr.com and click on “Explore…” then click “Interesting photos from the last seven days.” The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. [Note: the third picture will not work if it is unable to be “shared” — so just refresh the page until the 3rd pic can be saved to edit!]
4. Go to picnik.com and put it all together. (It’s a free photo editing website – no registration necessary).
5. Really, give it a whirl. You might be oddly pleased with the results.

*seriously: i highly recommend at least going through the first 3 steps just for fun…you might even discover your own rock ‘n roll alter ego!*

ahh yes, happy tuesday to you.
