obliteration.

my oober fabulous friend kelly (aka “kd”) sent me a link for the following art exhibit — she’s a pro at feeding my creative spirit & i couldn’t wait to pass on her excellent find to all of you!

artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment (at the queensland gallery of modern art in australia), painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color.

while i find this exhibit/instillation absolutely brilliant, i must admit the final “obliteration” result gives me a bit of anxiety…i don’t know if i could manage to be amidst the sticker explosion for too long without stressing out a bit (:

thank you for sharing, kd!!
